Dr. Junior's primary fields of clinical interest in interventional cardiology focus on advanced and complex procedures. He specializes in Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) revascularization, including the use of Rotablator for managing heavily calcified lesions. His expertise also covers bifurcation lesion PCI, Left Main Coronary Artery PCI, multivessel PCI in high-risk patients, and Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty. He employs cutting-edge intravascular imaging techniques such as Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for precise lesion assessment and stent optimization. Additionally, he utilizes fractional flow reserve (FFR) for assessing coronary physiology to guide interventions. Dr. Junior is proficient in using ultra-low contrast techniques in PCI, particularly beneficial for patients with advanced renal dysfunction.
In his current roles, Dr. Junior serves as the Head of the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine and Head of the Division of Invasive Diagnostic and Non-Surgical Intervention at the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. As the course director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program at Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G Ngoerah Central General Hospital Bali, he is dedicated to training future interventional cardiologists in these specialized areas.
