Sanur - Bali, January 10, 2025 – Bali International Hospital (BIH) is proud to announce its collaboration with ICON Cancer Centre, a leading global healthcare provider specializing in oncology. This partnership represents a significant milestone in positioning Bali as a premier destination for medical tourism and advanced cancer care.

A community gathering event was held at the Bali Beach Conference Room, located within the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (KEK). Themed “A Culture of Care: Community Gathering”, the event featured a panel discussion with representatives from Bali International Hospital, including Dr. Yeo Sheng Ming Noel (Chief Commercial & Operations Officer - PT Pertamedika Bali Hospital), Doddy Akhmadsyah (President Director of PT Hotel Internasional Sanur Indonesia), and BIH’s international partners Serena Wee (CEO, ICON ASEAN) and Dr. Patricia Kho Sunn Sunn (Senior Consultant in Medical Oncology of Icon Cancer Centre). Also in attendance were corporate partners, consulate representatives, community leaders, and tourism stakeholders in Bali.

During the event, the speakers detailed BIH’s readiness in terms of medical services, the integration of digital technology in healthcare, human resource optimization, advanced treatments and equipment, and the state-of-the-art facilities set to be operational mid-year. The event also emphasized the importance of corporate partnerships and stakeholder collaboration.

Dr. Dewi F. Fitriana, MPH, President Director of PT Pertamedika Bali Hospital, shared her vision: “Our partnership with ICON Cancer Centre reaffirms our commitment to excellence, innovation, and holistic patient care. Together, we aim to elevate healthcare standards in Bali while promoting medical tourism by combining world-class healthcare services with Bali’s unique hospitality.”

The partnership introduces advanced oncology treatments supported by state-of-the-art medical equipment and sophisticated diagnostic technology. BIH’s collaboration with Innoquest, a leading provider of diagnostic and laboratory services, ensures patients receive prompt and accurate diagnoses—crucial for effective treatment planning. These achievements are facilitated by the policies of the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (KEK), enabling the hospital to engage foreign doctors, international pharmaceuticals, and specialized treatments previously unavailable in Indonesia. Additionally, technology transfer to Indonesian medical professionals forms a critical aspect of this partnership. Through specialized training and expertise sharing, BIH ensures that local healthcare providers are equipped to meet international standards.

The event concluded with a hospital tour, offering guests a firsthand look at BIH’s advanced facilities, including radiology and radiotherapy departments, the emergency unit, pediatrics, and the readiness of Medical Check-Up (MCU) services and other medical facilities. This tour underscored BIH’s preparedness to deliver world-class medical services to both domestic and international patients.

“Bali International Hospital is scheduled to commence operations in April 2025, with a Grand Opening planned for June 2025,” stated Dr. Harmeni Wijaya, MD, Commercial Director of PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC. “The hospital will feature centers of excellence in cardiology, oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, and orthopedics.” Additionally, BIH will host specialized clinics focusing on pediatrics, men’s and women’s health, and comprehensive medical specializations for the community.

The partnership with ICON Cancer Centre highlights BIH’s dedication to providing integrated, patient-centered care. By combining international medical expertise with the latest advancements in cancer treatment, BIH is poised to deliver exceptional outcomes and support the growth of medical tourism in Bali.
