Bali, January 23, 2025 – The Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development (IPK), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, expressed his appreciation for the development progress of Bali International Hospital (BIH) during his official visit on January 23, 2025, to the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (KEK), Bali.

During his visit, the Coordinating Minister shared his optimism about the advancement of BIH, which is designed as a world-class hospital. "The development of the Sanur Special Economic Zone is ongoing, and we can see its progress. We want to encourage and ensure proper oversight so that this project can be completed soon," he stated.

He emphasized the importance of KEK Sanur as an international health and economic center with high strategic value, with BIH being one of its flagship facilities. "This hospital not only provides top-notch healthcare services but also offers a unique ambiance, given its location in Sanur, a tourist destination with beautiful scenery and a comfortable environment," he added.

The development of BIH, managed by PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC, a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive to establish infrastructure supporting the health sector.

The Coordinating Minister emphasized, "With BIH, we no longer need to seek healthcare services abroad. Instead, we can attract patients from various countries, creating economic impact while advancing Indonesia's tourism sector."

IHC President Director, Dr. Lukman Ma'ruf, stated that BIH represents IHC's strategic commitment as the SOE Hospital Holding to deliver world -class healthcare services. "BIH is designed not only to meet the healthcare needs of the Indonesian community but also to attract international patients. As a flagship hospital, BIH embodies IHC's synergy and innovation in building an integrated, sustainable healthcare ecosystem that supports economic growth and medical tourism," he explained.

Similarly, PT Pertamedika Bali Hospital President Director, Dr. Dewi F. Fitriana, MPH, highlighted that BIH is designed to meet international standards to ensure the quality of healthcare services. "Our facilities are equipped with advanced medical technology, including integrated oncology services with modern, precise radiation therapy using LINAC and 3D Brachytherapy. We also have a 3 Tesla MRI for high-quality diagnostic imaging and a modern laboratory system that ensures BIH's diagnostic capabilities meet international standards," she noted. 

BIH is supported by a professional team of specialists, sub-specialists, and diaspora doctors who have honed their expertise in various international institutions. BIH also features centers of excellence in Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Gastroenterohepatology, and Orthopedics (CONGO), designed to meet the healthcare needs of both Indonesian and international patients.

As part of KEK Sanur, BIH is expected to act as a catalyst in supporting Indonesia's health and tourism sectors. With the project slated for completion this year, the hospital is ready to be inaugurated and operationalized to deliver exceptional healthcare services while attracting medical tourists from various countries.
