Whole-body MRI (WB-MRI) is an advanced imaging examination that scans the body from the head to the mid-thigh without using ionizing radiation.
This examination is commonly used for early cancer detection and evaluation of cancer spread, especially in individuals with higher cancer risk.
The scan can be performed using 3T or 1.5T MRI systems. If the patient has non-removable metallic prostheses, a 1.5T MRI is recommended.
